Network Aims:
Share and develop good practice for working with EAL / Minority Ethnic learners at secondary level
Disseminate strategies and raise awareness of useful resources for supporting EAL / Minority Ethnic learners
Provide an opportunity to network and to share information with colleagues
Cost?
£200 to attend all 3 sessions, for up to 2 delegates per school
£70 per individual session, for up to 2 delegates per school
Additional delegates may attend at a cost of £100 for all 3 sessions, or £35 per individual session
When?
The network is facilitated by Sharon Mitchell-Halliday, who is an Independent Education Consultant, specialising in English as an additional language (EAL), literacy, language and communication and Closing the gap. Sharon has 18 years teaching experience as a secondary French and English teacher in Leicestershire and Hertfordshire, and was the British Council EAL Nexus CPD Specialist for the East of England in 2014-15. She is also a licensed LiLAC tutor (Language in Learning across the curriculum, a professional development course to support the teaching of EAL learners and to develop literacy in mainstream classrooms) and a licensed Elklan tutor (Speech, Language and Communication Course).
