Thursday, 28 June '18   6pm – 8pm BST
Rushey Mead Academy, Melton Road, Leicester, LE4 7AN

Details

The Leicester Teaching School is committed to creating opportunities for Governors to work together on improving the quality of Governance in our schools, thereby improving the life chances of our young people.

This two hour course will give all governors an insight into the key responsibilities that they have for safeguarding children.

Features of the programme:

  • To increase awareness of the background to current safeguarding policies.
  • To heighten commitment to the significance of effective safeguarding of children.
  • To support governors in their duty to monitor and evaluate their school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

The course is very important to all governing bodies and, due to the nature of the content, governors are encouraged to attend in pairs and to set aside time for reflection and action.

Other workshops for governors are available covering Disadvantaged Students, Financial Efficiencies, the Inspection Dashboard, Forming or Joining a MAT and Disadvantaged Pupils, Governing Body Panels.
