Details

This course uses Lisson Grove’s Quick Benefits Calculator (QBC) to examine some of the benefits rules that are needed to complete accurate calculations for Universal Credit.

This course can be booked as a single one-day course or as part of a discounted two-day course with Calculating benefits and tax credits (QBC) on 13th June.

By the end of the course participants will:

  • Be familiar with Lisson Grove’s QBC and how to input information;
  • Have an understanding of how Universal Credit is calculated;
  • Understand how QBC calculates UC Housing Element for different tenant groups;
  • Be familiar with the different elements within Universal Credit and how QBC recognises them;
  • Understand how income is assessed for Universal Credit purposes;
  • Be able to complete better off calculations when someone moves into work;
  • Be able to recognise typical data entry errors when using QBC;
  • Have access to advice regarding any QBC related question for 12 months after the course.

This is a practical course. It is delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, group work and exercises, case studies, group discussion and games.

This course is suitable for advisers who are required to complete means tested benefits calculations using Lisson Grove’s Quick Benefits Calculator (QBC). A working knowledge of the benefits system is assumed.

Please note: BTC will provide access to QBC during the course but licenses for use of QBC after the course must be purchased separately from Lisson Grove.

Please read the attached BTCTerms document (see Documents tab above) before booking. By completing the online form, you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions.
