Are you passionate about promoting mental health, resilience and help-seeking in young people?

Are you willing to volunteer a small amount of time to help deliver a mental health program in schools?

Then we would love to hear from you!

AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO HELP REDUCE SUICIDE AND PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH IN YOUNG PEOPLE

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) program in schools across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Macarthur areas. YAM is an evidence-based program which gets young people involved and talking about mental health through role-play and discussion. YAM has been delivered to schools in our region since 2018.

You will help deliver the YAM program in partnership with a trained YAM Facilitator.

More information on YAM and its implementation in the Illawarra Shoalhaven can be found on our website (https://suicidepreventioncollaborative.org.au/get-involved-2/yam-helper/).

Instructions

YAM Helper training will be delivered virtually on Tuesday 15th June from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

As part of the registration process, you will be asked to provide Working With Children Check (WWCC) details. You will still be able to register for the training if you do not have a WWCC, but will be required to provide evidence of a valid WWCC before being able to help with the delivery of YAM in schools.
