Doing something practical is so important for our mental well-being. We want to offer the opportunity to learn to more people than those who can travel to us. This is why we are now offering one of our carpentry courses online. Join us for the live Zoom sessions or watch the recording if you can't make a lesson in person. In this online course you will learn how to make a footstool from wood. Whether you are a total beginner or you have done some woodwork before, this course is a great starting point or the perfect refresher for those basic carpentry skills. You will learn a system of marking out wood, how to correctly measure and saw wood, how to join wood together using screws and nails and how to identify the correct fixings for the job.
And you won't need your own workshop or shed - we'll show you how you can work safely at your kitchen table!
You will walk away with a finished stool, and throughout the course we will encourage you to expand your very own tool collection so that you can carry on using your new skills at home.
You will need a few basic tools in preparation for this course; you can find a list here
The course is for women aged 16 and up.
The lessons will be on Zoom and the time zone for this class is London, UK (GMT)
You will need to have the tools from this list at home:
You can source your own wood or you can order a materials pack from us here: https://www.touchwoodsouthwest.com/product/course-materials-pack-footstool-half-price-for-course-participants/
Attend the lessons on Zoom. The time zone for this class is London, UK (GMT)
