Come learn the basics of tapestry weaving with local fibre artist Natalie Eedson of Woolgathering Ottawa. (instagram)

In this 4-hour hands-on class, students will learn foundational techniques of weaving, including warping your loom, rya knots (fringe), plain weave, working shapes, changing colours, and finishing. You can also get creative working with roving, and learn the pile and soumak weaves to give your wall hanging lots of fluffy textures. By the end, you’ll have a beautiful wall hanging to cozy up your home, and a passion for more weaving.
No experience necessary and all supplies are included. PLUS you will take home your very own Ashford frame loom at the end of the class!
