Details

This is a free course led by Claudia McGowan of Nightingale Community Academy.

This session will provide a brief overview of attachment theory history and origins. It will explore ideas around attachment and how our attachment style influences present relationships. We will explore common presentations linked to attachment difficulties, and we’ll use case studies to illustrate some of the interactions we may expect to have when engaging with children who may be experiencing attachment difficulties. Practical strategies and ideas to address problematic behaviours in class will also be discussed, whilst looking at practical issues in relationship building, the promotion of self-regulation through co-regulation and interpreting behaviour through the lens of attachment.
