Details

Strong language development underpins all learning. Drawing on evidence from the Education Endowment Foundation and the Reading Framework, this course equips teaching assistants with the knowledge and strategies to support children’s spoken language development across the primary years.
As highlighted by the EEF, “Oral language interventions can have a positive impact on pupils’ language skills… and on average pupils make approximately six months’
additional progress.”
Participants will explore key milestones in language development, recognise when children may need additional support, and learn practical strategies to scaffold talk and interaction in Reception and Key Stage 1. With a focus on high-quality classroom practice, the course supports all staff to play a vital role in improving outcomes for all learners.
