Yogasara Foundation Course 2022

An invitation to come and deepen your practice of Yoga & Tantra over three months

Six days (three weekends) of diving into the empowerment, healing & wellbeing available through yoga. Our teaching is rooted in Tantric philosophy - an approach easily incorporated into everyday life. We offer you a synergy of contemporary and traditional wisdom. Our courses are a progressive evolution of Yoga & Tantra for the western body-heart-mind with an emphasis on invoking awakening in all areas of life, on & off the mat.

We will explore conscious embodiment through asana, mantra & pranayama. We will demystify Yogic philosophy and enable you to apply it to everyday life. We will facilitate your self practice & teach you how to adapt the practices for your individual needs. We will inspire you to grow & flourish in a loving supportive community.

Course Content:

You will receive a Foundation Course Handbook which will introduce you to the key teachings of Yogasara. This includes the Yogasara Vinyasa Flow sequence. We will start to explore the fundamentals within the course.

The key Yogasara teachings we will cover are:

• Asana - conscious embodiment through a detailed exploration of alignment principles & experiential anatomy, using a Kramic (step-by-step) approach to the postures.
• Krama Vinyasa - a creative exploration of movement and breath as a direct experience of spirit moving as and through the body.
• Breath & Pranayama - explore breathing techniques and pranayama- how to harness prana (life force) & learn how to direct it through the body-mind for enhanced wellbeing, clarity & empowerment.
• Bandha - demystify and access the energetic experience of bandha through the muscular body. Find more strength & stability physically, mentally & emotionally.
• Vayus - understand how to harness directional forces in the body to find balance.
• Koshas - understand & experience more fully the interplay of body-mind-emotions-energy & spirit.
• Mantra, Meditation & Chanting - explore how sitting practice & sound/vibration can invoke transpersonal states of awareness and facilitate greater well-being.
• Philosophy - our teaching is rooted in Tantric philosophy- inspired by texts such as the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra & The Recognition Sutras. Tantra shows us that everything is intrinsically divine & that through the senses & the phenomenal world we can realise our own divine nature. We will compare & contrast Tantra with the Sutric philosophy of Patanjali.
