Details

This nationally recognised walking qualification scheme has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The scheme opens up a natural pathway to other awards and qualifications for leading and working with others in the outdoors.

This is a 2 day (16 hour) course designed to assess you against the syllabus competencies but will be run in a relaxed style to help you perform and achieve.

Before you attend an assessment you will also be sent a ‘Home Paper’ to complete in your own time. This will be a set of questions designed to explore many areas of the syllabus, some of which may not directly be covered in the 16 hour assessment contact time.

Before booking, make sure you have done the following:

  • Attended a Lowland Leader training course (or have been granted exemption)
  • Be familiar with the syllabus
  • Logged a minimum of 20 walks in lowland countryside
  • Hold a current First Aid certificate, minimum 16 hours
  • Come prepared with all personal kit and equipment
