Shrivenham Station Swimming Pool

At the end of the 2022 season a review was conducted to understand the short and long-term viability of the Shrivenham Station Swimming Pool (SSSP), it will not have escaped your attention that the fabric of the SSSP is in need of modernisation to be fit for current and future use. The review concluded that significant capital expenditure was required to fund the necessary improvements required to allow the pool to operate in a safe and legally compliant manner during the 2023 season. Unfortunately, the large capital sum required is well in excess of our budget this Financial Year; therefore, the painful decision has been taken to not open the SSSP for the 2023 season.

Understandably, this news will be a disappointment for you. However, the long-term view is more positive, we are engaging a professional consultant to assist in the development of a modernisation program proposal, and bidding for sufficient funds to realise the program. With the overarching aim to deliver an all-year round 21st century pool facility fit for use by all abilities.
