Join us in SWINDON at Swindon Lightning Cheerleading facility for this UK Tumbling Collective workshops. A full- equipped, sprung floor venue.
These are coached sessions run by UKTC Staff, focused on drills, body shaping and improving technique. These tumbling workshops are open to everyone from all athletic disciplines including dance, gymnastics, cheer, acro.
Each session is an intensive training opportunity. Sessions will include a dynamic warm-up, conditioning drills, body shaping and control-based equipment stations, standing tumbling stations and open free tumbling time for running tumbling. Athletes will be able to focus on fundamental tumbling principles (power, shaping, strength) and also work on skills and connected passes at their own ability level. Coaches will be on-hand throughout to assist with feedback, spotting and progression tips.
Athletes may book onto more than one session, but as these are intensive training sessions, it is recommended you bring plenty of food and drinks to sustain your energy.
Age 5+
This workshop is suitable for novice, beginner and more experienced athletes working towards:
Back-handsprings, Walkovers, Cartwheels, Round-offs, Front handsprings.
It is recommended to have some tumbling experience and have mastered handstands and bridges to enrol in this class.
Roughly aligned to IASF Level 1 divisions
Age 8+
This workshop is suitable for those who have mastered [standing back-handsprings] and [round-offs] as prerequisite skills. This workshop develops back-handspring series, round-off back-handsprings, aerials, tucks, punch fronts and round off tucks.
Roughly aligned to IASF Levels 2-3
Age 10+ (For athletes below 10 years old with the pre-requisite skills, contact us before booking to confirm this class is developmentally appropriate.)
This workshop is suitable for those who have mastered [round-off backhandspring tuck] as a prerequisite skill. This workshop develops round-off tuck passes, standing tucks, layouts, whips, twisting layouts, punch fronts, arabians and other connected skills.
Roughly aligned to IASF levels 4-6.
All participants must wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict physical movement. Leggings/shorts and t-shirt or crop top are ideal. Jeans, clothes with loose straps or buckles and swimwear items are not suitable. If skirts are worn, a leotard,shorts or leggings must be worn underneath.
All jewellery MUST be removed. Hair can be worn however the participant is comfortable.
Footwear is optional. Bare feet, gym slippers, dance shoes or socks are suitable. Cheer trainers are allowed but must be clean indoor only trainers (not worn in off the street). Socks must be worn to use any of the trampetes.
All participants receive a certificate of attendance.
This is a closed session for athlete safety. Spectator passes are not available. There is a waiting area available, subject to space, or athletes can be dropped and collected (under 16s must be signed in by an adult)
Athletes aged under 18 with medical conditions (including but not limited to: severe asthma, anaphylaxis, epilepsy, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, heart conditions) or an EHCP in place must have a responsible adult remaining on-site at all times in the waiting area throughout the session. A medical emergency plan should be handed in at registration, where applicable, and medications clearly labelled and accessible.
All under 18s must have the permission of a parent/guardian to register and attend this workshop.
All parents, participants, spectators and coaches agree to abide by the 230 Intensives' code of conduct, spectator policy and venue guidelines. Policies are available on our website.
All advertised times are approximate and subject to change. If an event is postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, tickets will be valid for a future event once rescheduled, or may be transferred to an alternative event within the 12 month period (subject to availability).
Any personal arrangements for the event, such as travel and accommodation, are at participants' own risk.
Tickets cannot be resold or transferred to other athletes (ID may be required at event registration to confirm ticket ownership) Tickets can be refunded up to 5 working days prior to an event. After this time tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
