Ray Day

Details

A fun full day on the water for Scouts and Explorers. For those that haven’t done one before, we sail out from The Den on the ebbing tide, moor up in the Ray channel off Westcliff, wait for the tide to go out, play on the sand bank, sail, swim, eat, then come home as the tide floods.

Some sailing experience is needed, but we do have some space for novices too.

You will need plenty of water / drinks, and food for lunch/snacks for the day. Sun cream and a hat are a must.

It’s a long day, but great fun. A good chance to practice sailing and build confidence. For the more experienced sailors we’ll bring some spinnakers and a trapeze harness to play with.

As with all water activities, this is weather dependent.

Instructions

You will need to bring a water bottle and packed lunch.
You’ll also need to be suncreamed up and have a hat with you.
