Details

Join Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure for Mental Health Awareness Week.

Paddleboarding involves standing up on a board and using a paddle to make your way through the water. You'll use your arms while standing or kneeling to propel you and your board forward.

Our Adult Paddleboarding session at Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre is a popular water sport activity which is known to have several mental health benefits. Paddleboarding can reduce symptoms of anxiety as well as help you build self-confidence. Paddleboarding can also be a social activity which helps you connect with others.

London Borough of Redbridge have partnered with Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure and Redbridge Institute Adult Education to deliver this session as part of their new project: Active Body, Healthy Mind for Mental Health Awareness Week.

Instructions

In terms of clothing, many paddleboarders opt for swimsuits or board shorts in hot weather. Wear quick-drying materials that won't weigh you down when wet. In cooler weather, wearing a wetsuit or drysuit can help keep you warm and comfortable on the water. Please ensure you bring a change of clothes and trainers to wear on the water. Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre will provide a wetsuit on the day if required.

No flipflops are allowed whilst on the paddleboard. Please note any valuables will be locked within our office space. Please avoid wearing any valuable jewelry in the water.

Shower facilities are available on site - please do bring your own towels.

Upon arrival, please check in at reception.
