MOVING MEDITATION 'KUM NYE' exercises work to unite awareness of physical body, subtle body (or Ku) and mind through mindfulness of breath and sensations. As understanding and experience deepen with practice, this Tibetan ‘Kum Nye’ yoga loosens the practitioner’s long-held tensions and habitual tendencies to enable deeper levels of relaxation and profound awareness of ‘mind.’ This class includes periods of exercise and sitting meditation.
These classes are offered on a dana/donation basis. Dana, meaning ‘generosity’ or ‘giving’, is an individual’s voluntary donation of appreciation and gratitude. In Buddhism, it is a practice of great value to the practitioner, as it diminishes self-centredness and includes the well-being of others in our actions. The principle of Dana means that people of all income brackets can participate in traditional practices that have supported wellbeing through meditation for over 2,500 years. Dana offers those who value the practice of meditation, the chance to help in the continuation of this deeply-needed service. There is no correct sum to give and the amount depends upon your circumstances and how your heart is moved.
