Low back pain is a common cause for people to seek out yoga but trying to incorporate students into a general class can be a challenge. It can be difficult to know if what you are doing as a teacher may hinder or help.

Understanding the anatomy of the spine and some common conditions which cause pain can really help to make you feel more confident as a teacher.

If you would like to learn how to adapt your teaching style to incorporate all levels of pain and mobility in to a general class then this CPD is for you.

This CPD day is for yoga teachers who would like to understand more about low back pain and how to manage students in a genral clas with a history of low back pain.

The workshop is run by Aimee Newton a qualified Osteopath and yoga teacher of 20 years.

The day is practical not just learning text book anatomy and but hands on practical learning.

We will be aiming to look at the following: -
• Understanding spinal curves
• Common pathology explained e.g. ‘sciatica’ ‘slipped disc’
• When not to teach someone
• Practical palpation and anatomy

As well exploring teaching methods, class structure and practical techniques to help make you more confident that your class is helping your students, not making them worse!
