Is this for you?
This engaging and interactive course has been created for parents, grandparents and anyone caring for babies and young children so that they can respond promptly and effectively to any first aid incident or emergency as well as advice on how to manage common childhood illnesses and conditions.

How long is this course?
This course is 2-3 hours long, but you can study at your own pace in your own time on a device of your choice (PC/Mac/iPad/Phone).

What is covered during this course?
Course content provides you with the knowledge to:

  • Assessing an emergency situation and prioritising what action to take
  • Understanding the importance of PPE and Infection Control
  • Helping a baby, child or adult who is unresponsive and breathing normally
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is having a seizure or a febrile convulsion
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is choking
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is suffering a heart attack, angina attack or stroke
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is bleeding
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is suffering from shock
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is suffering from anaphylactic shock
  • Help a baby, child or adult who has burns or scalds
  • Help a baby, child or adult who has a suspected fracture
  • Help a baby, child or adult who has a head injury
  • Help a baby, child or adult with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose
  • Help a baby, child or adult with an eye injury
  • Help a baby, child or adult with a bite or sting
  • Help a baby, child or adult who is suffering from poisoning
  • Help a baby, child or adult with a suspected asthma attack, allergic reaction, meningitis, sepsis, or fever
  • Appropriate contents of a first aid box

How will I be assessed?
Throughout the E-Learning, you will be assessed through interactive videos, multiple-choice questions and an end-of-course assessment.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes!
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a certificate to prove course completion.

Instructions

You don't have to start this on the date you book the course; you can start early or later. Once enrolled on the E-Learning Portal, you'll have 24-hour access to complete whenever is best for you.
