Paediatric First Aid (12 hours taught over 2 days)

Paediatric First Aid- 2 day delivered by MPC First Aid Training
(You will need to attend both days to complete the course)
This course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anybody who deals with children and wants a more in-depth course.
The required EYFS syllabus includes:
➢ First Aid Priorities.
➢ Managing Incidents.
➢ Basic Life Support – Adult, Child and Baby.
➢ Choking.
➢ Casualty examination.
➢ Unconsciousness.
➢ Anaphylaxis
➢ Fractures.
➢ Control of bleeding and Shock.
➢ Asthma.
➢ Eye and Ear injuries.
➢ Burns and Scalds.
➢ First Aid kits.
➢ Childhood illnesses including Meningitis & Febrile Convulsions.
➢ Regulations.
➢ Recording and Reporting.
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the delegate, there is no final examination. The certificate is valid for 3 years.
