Keith Westcott, metal detectorist, historian, archaeologist and member of Channel 4's Time Team will talk about some of the archaeological discoveries that he has made at Broughton, stretching back to Roman times.
The lecture will begin at 7pm, with the grounds of the castle including gardens open from 5pm.
You are welcome to bring a picnic, weather willing and there will be a cash bar for wine and soft drinks.
Parking is available at Broughton Castle, and the grounds open at 5pm.
The talk will be given in the Great Hall at 7pm, with access from 6.45pm.
Broughton Castle will close at 8.45pm and the Car Park at 9.00pm.
There are toilet facilities in the Castle Car Park.
We ask you to respect that Broughton Castle is both private home and historic monument. Camping chairs and the like are welcome but please do not bring gazebo’s or anything that may harm the grounds and ensure all picnic litter goes home with you. The Castle interiors will not be open to guests, only the Great Hall from 6.45pm.
The event is wheelchair accessible but if you have any other accessibilities needs, please get in contact with the team and we will be able to advise.
