The course is designed for people who have not shot before, or are returning to the sport after a long period of absence. It introduces students to the barebow and recurve freestyle forms of shooting, how to shoot safely as part of a club or group, and the basics of competition archery. It consists of 3 x 4 hour sessions, 9am to 1pm.
A beginner course is an Archery GB accredited course run by an accredited Archery GB coach and consists of 12hrs of training spread over 3 x 4hr sessions.
If you wish to take up Archery as a sport and join an archery club most clubs will want you to have completed an Archery GB accredited beginners course and will enable you to enter competitions and get further coaching and development (from the club coaches usually at no further cost) as you progress in the sport.
