Move into Wellbeing – A Morning Retreat

Details

Are you curious to discover how you can radically increase your wellbeing? Join Kate Sagovsky & the BCA founders for a carefully curated retreat that will introduce a range of wellbeing practices – Feldenkrais, Yoga & Meditation – that cultivate body-mind wellbeing, and allow participants to reconnect with their embodied experience.

In a warm and welcoming environment, this small group (max. 15 participants) will be guided by experienced teachers through a range of complementary wellbeing practices – including sitting & walking meditation, gentle yoga, and the Feldenkrais Method.

Discover what works for you and how you might begin to introduce, develop and deepen a regular mindfulness-movement practice into your everyday life.  Leave this unique workshop feeling relaxed and free in your movement, less stressed, and more connected to yourself and others.

Introduction to Feldenkrais: Discover the magic of the Feldenkrais Method in this relaxed and fun session. You will be guided through different sequences of slow, gentle movements, using simple, easy-to-follow instructions. Together, we will explore how slowing down and bringing your awareness to physical sensations can enable you to move, breathe, and live your life more fully and with greater ease. We invite you to join us if you are curious about how the Feldenkrais Method can help you reduce pain, fatigue, and stress; change unhelpful habits; and cultivate deep self-awareness. We will introduce you to some of the key concepts of this ground-breaking method, and allow you to experience for yourself how mindful movement explorations can facilitate a transformative journey of self-discovery, and encourage internal resilience, balance, clarity, & strength.

Introduction to Meditation: BCA founder Ben Lewis will introduce the group to simple seated and walking meditation practices, of no more than 10-minutes at a time, throughout the day. These practices will explore our felt-experience and will compliment the two movement practices perfectly.

Introduction to Yoga: Come and explore the benefits of a gentle yoga practice that’s suitable for all – even if you’ve never tried yoga before! Work at your own level in a safe and supportive environment. Yoga aims to connect body, breath and mind and encourages us to explore how we feel, rather than how we look. Berwick Contemplative Arts would like to encourage and support you to begin, reconnect with, or continue your yoga journey with our gentle, friendly, and encouraging ‘Yoga for All’ practice. Because yoga is for everyone!

We believe mindfulness and movement is for everyone - and we mean, everyone - and aim to make our spaces as accessible and inclusive as possible. Our teachers are specialists in working with a wide range of people, adapting their teaching to your needs. If you have any questions, anxieties, or fears about participating please contact us and we will happily talk through your personal circumstances and make sure the workshop is accessible for you.
