Introducing Winter Swims - our first ever Winter Timetable
We switched our heating system and boilers off in October and our water has slowly cooled down. There are plenty of health benefits to swimming in cold water, but also a great amount of safety advice. See our website and facebook page for tips, tricks and kit for cold water swimming. At the moment we are giving the pool a quick blast of heat weekly so expect pool temperature 12-14°c at the beginning of the week and 10-12°c on Saturday, with warm showers at the beginning of the week but cold by Saturday!
The water temperature will be clearly displayed each day - for inexperienced cold water swimmers, a good rule of thumb is to only be in the pool for a maximum of 1-2 minutes per degree, eg. 15°c = 15-30 minute swim. You are welcome to wear a wetsuit or any other neoprene kit.
Hot drinks are available at all sessions, just £2 each. Exact money only please and no change given. We are unable to accept card payments.
While Suffolk & Norfolk are in in Tier 4, the pool can remain open as it is a permitted outdoor sport and physical activity, although the government has issued guidance on travel.
Please note that you can no longer meet with up to 6 people from different households at the pool - this has been changed to only one person from another household. You can visit the pool with unlimited people from your household/support bubble.
