Beginner Garment Making: Wilder Dress or Top! - Adult Workshop - Ages 17 and up - For Beginners

The Wilder Gown is a loose, flowy, tiered dress that can be sewn up in a bunch of different ways! It has raglan sleeves and ties up at the neck. It is easy to sew and is perfect for drapey woven fabrics. The Wilder Gown can be made as a top or dress, long or short sleeved, with one skirt tier or two. The design is fairly modular so it is easy to customize to your vision! Jana will guide you through cutting out the pattern, sewing raglan sleeves, fabric finishing, and gathering techniques.

This class is appropriate for beginners who know the basics of sewing machine setup and operation. Check out our Intro to Sewing 101: Crash Course if you've never used a machine before! You can also contact beehiveclasses@gmail.com to setup a private lesson to get you up to speed.

Supplies:

• Sewing machine and accessories
• Pattern included
• Fabric yardage depends on size and style chosen, instructor will email you prior to class to talk about amounts: The Wilder Gown is designed for light to mid weight woven fabrics. Rayon challis, cotton lawn, double gauze, chambray, and linen would all be great for this pattern. I recommend using a fabric that isn't too slippery if you've never made a garment or used such fabric before. Fabric should be pre-washed before class.
• Coordinating thread

• Removable marking pen
• Straight pins or clips
• Safety pin or bodkin Optional:

• Four cones matching serger thread
• Loop turner

CLASS POLICIES
o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 3 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o Mask Policy: All students are strongly encouraged to wear masks during workshop time if there is a student or teacher requesting masks.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
