Beginner Garment Making: Pajama Pants or Shorts - Ages 17 and up - For Beginners

Start your journey into garment sewing with these comfortable pajama pants! They are the perfect project to learn the basics of using a pattern. Jana will teach you how to cut out and assemble your pattern pieces, create an elastic waistband, and how to finish fabric edges.

This class is appropriate for beginners who know the basics of sewing machine setup and operation. Check out our Intro to Sewing 101: Crash Course if you've never used a machine before! You can also contact beehiveclasses@gmail.com to setup a private lesson to get you up to speed.

Supplies:

• Sewing machine and accessories
• Pattern included, size ranges from XXS-3X.
• Pre-washed and dried fabric. Light to midweight woven fabrics such as quilting cotton, chambray, batik, linen or flannel. The instructor will contact you about yardage based on size and length chosen.
• 1-2 yards of 1.5" wide elastic (amount depends on size)
• Coordinating thread
• Fabric scissors or rotary cutter, mat, and pattern weights
• Straight pins or clips
• Removable marking pen or pencil
• Seam gauge
• Measuring tape
• Overcast presser foot for your machine

Optional Supplies:

• Serger
• Four cones matching serger thread

Please be sure you have a working sewing machine that has been used within the last 3 months. If you are unsure about your machine, you can borrow on or ours. Please reach out to beehiveclasses@gmail.com if you need to borrow a machine for class.

o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 3 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
