Pauline Dress - Adult Workshop - Ages 17 and up - For Intermediate Sewists

Pauline is a true statement dress; dramatic, romantic and loaded with special details. The dress features a unique bodice design that incorporates knife pleats at the waist, a face-framing square neckline and a keyhole opening in the back bodice tied at the nape of the neck. Pauline can be made unlined or fully lined and is closed with an invisible zipper at center back. We will focus on the knee-length dress with sleeves, but you are welcome to make the midi length option (with a little extra homework).

This project is for the advanced beginner or intermediate sewist who would like to tackle more techniques. You have made some garments and understand how to cut out patterns pieces utilizing the provided cutting layout. You will be required to cut out your fabrics before class. If you need assistance reading a pattern and prepping it for construction, grading and altering your pattern, or cutting out your fabrics before class, we can schedule you for a one-on-one lesson ahead of time to help you prepare. Supplies:
-Sewing machine and accessories
-Fabric yardage depends on size. This pattern can be made with a variety of fabrics depending on the desired effect. For a more structured shape, use light to medium weight wovens such as linen, poplin, seersucker, broadcloth, sateen, chambray, or cotton shirtings. For a softer effect, use rayon challis, viscose, cotton voile, or silk. Fabric should be pre-washed, then have your pattern pieces cut out prior to the first class.
-Optional lining: choose lightweight woven fabrics such as viscose, silk, lawn, or voile.
-Lightweight fusible interfacing like Pellon Sheerweight or Featherweight (0.5yd for 45" wide interfacing, 1.25yd for 20” wide interfacing)
-16-18" invisible zipper (longer zippers may be used and trimmed to size)
-1/2 yard x 3/8" wide elastic sleeve cuffs
-Invisible zipper foot
-Coordinating thread
-Removable marking tool
-Point turner
-Optional: bias tape

o This class has a 4 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o Mask Policy: All students are strongly encouraged to wear masks during workshop time if there is a student or teacher requesting masks.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
