Put a Pocket in it!- Ages 17 and up - For Strong Beginners

You can stop wishing your favorite clothes had pockets and learn how to add them yourself! We will sew in-seam pockets or cute patch pockets to add function, flair, or both!
Jana will help you determine which type of pocket will work best for your garments and guide you through the alteration.

Recommended items: Light to medium weight woven fabric (ex: linen, cotton, chambray) skirts, pants, or dresses that are missing pockets.
Garments to avoid: Stretch fabrics (ex: jersey knit, leggings), evening wear fabrics (ex: satin, chiffon, beaded), heavyweight fabrics, jeans.

This class is for Strong Beginners and up, meaning you understand the basics of threading and operating a sewing machine.

Supplies:

• Sewing machine in good working condition with necessary attachments (or email beehiveclasses@gmail.com to borrow one of ours)
• A few garments that you'd like to add pockets to (see above for recommendations)
• Thread that coordinates with your garment(s)
• Non-stretch fabric that is similar weight or lighter-weight version of the garment you're adding pockets to. You can get a quilting cotton or cotton lawn in a similar or contrasting color, depending on if you'd like the pocket to stand out.

CLASS POLICIES
o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 3 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o COVID Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that health conditions would make attending class dangerous for teachers and students. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
