A painting is composed using colour. This is an intensive hands-on workshop plays with colour relationships to give you a better understanding of the decisions you make when painting.
Using a variety of historical models and practical exercises, you will gain insight into colour choices and confidence in swinging between intuition and deliberation when it comes to composition.
From da Vinci to Frankenthaler, scientific groupings to emotional responses, this workshop will help open up the fluid and immeasurable world of colour for you as a painter.
Some materials will be provided, but please bring:
Artists quality paints – at least a yellow, red, blue and white
Brushes
Palette
300gsm paper (Britannia matte is a good, inexpensive choice)
Notebook and pen
Scissors
A glue stick
Apron/old shirt
