When drawing or painting most of us have some understanding of how to represent form in space through the use of tonal greyscale light to dark. This workshop offers ways to think and work practically on tone and colour relationships. Explore aspects relating to colour values (tone), colour temperature (hue) and colour intensity (saturation/chromatic value). The goal of this workshop is to offer relevant practical studio-based exercises alongside teaching colour theory. This course is designed for those with some to intermediate experience in painting. Fee includes some materials.
Please bring:
Acrylic paints: Red, Yellow, Blue, Yellow ochre, Raw umber, Black and white.
Acrylic medium – Gel, Matte or Gloss
A variety of brushes: round and flat, size 2, 6, 8 synthetic fibre.
Pen, paper or notebook for notes.
An apron or old/art shirt.
At Browne School of Art we also have a selection of basic materials available for purchase: paper in A1 / A2 sheets: newsprint, cartridge, sugar grey, wet strength, bulldog clips, pencils, charcoal, erasers, white chalk, black ink.
This list is a general guide only. The majority (though not necessarily all) of these materials
