In this 2-day workshop with Toni Mosley, you will learn screen printing by working with hand-cut stencils, pre-exposed textured screens and collage to build your own images.
You will be shown how to make and use hand-cut stencils and the basics of screen printing.
We will also discuss how you can do this at home with minimal supplies.

A basic kit of materials to get you up and going is listed here. Specialist art shops are the best
option and will provide student discounts if you mention that you are attending the school.
Recommended stores are:
• Studio Art Supplies – Crummer Road, Grey Lynn.
• The French Art Shop – Taylors Road, Morningside
• Gordon Harris – Gillies Avenue, Newmarket and Symonds Street, Auckland Central
• Takapuna Art Supplies – Helensville, or online
• Warehouse Stationery – has Winton oil paint
Students need to bring:
• an apron or old shirt
• spritzer bottle (water only)
• old drawings/ works on paper etc to build on top of
• drawing paper A3 size for stencils
• Exacto or cutting knife
• heavy weight paper to print on (not have too much tooth to it) approx.. 10 sheets x A3
Your tutor will bring:
• pre-exposed screens,
• squeegees
• clamps
• boards with clamps
• rags
• collage materials i.e.: paper, glue, etc.
Browne School of Art will supply most of the materials you require for printmaking including:
• blank screens for printing, scissors/cutting knives, cutting boards, hairdryers
We have a selection of basic materials available for purchase at reasonable cost i.e.: newsprint, tissue, Hahnemühle print paper size 80 x 120cm, 300gsm, wet strength paper (or Royal Offset) 270gsm
