This course looks at the techniques that many contemporary artists employ to create certain effects by using both oil and acrylic paints within the same painting. Most of us know that acrylic paints dry more rapidly and are odorless compared to oil paints, but via the employment of particular techniques, a combination of the two paint types can afford a wide range of painterly applications and finishes in a time saving and cost-effective manner. Through studio-based experimentation and gallery visits this course looks at the unique properties of oil paint and acrylic paints and how combing their use within a single composition can enhance you paint practice.
