Beginning with the art and life of the great American artist Georgia O’Keefe, we will explore how to visually deconstruct the natural world and how to virtually inhabit the interspace between appearances and the abstract.

Students will be guided in unique painting applications and techniques. We will begin by breaking down observational drawings and, with a newfound knowledge of compositional structure and balance, rebuild these towards painting. Through this process, comes the development of a fresh and surprisingly exciting visual language.

Brendan will also be bringing his product knowledge of a range of Golden paints and mediums to help students get the most out of the new acrylic products now available.

The course is suited to students of all levels of experience.
Students will take home a completed work.
