More Flora with Zoë Nash
Following on from several iterations of Flora I and II, Zoë Nash presents More Flora – another opportunity to creatively explore a range of diverse mark-making, drawing, and painting techniques that use nature as inspiration.
Beginning with some loose observational studies of real-life specimens, the class will be gently encouraged to investigate multiple ways to illustrate how flora can be engaging and personally meaningful in their practice.
Whereas Flora I focusses on direct observation of selected plant specimens, and Flora II examines how to capture the mood, feeling and emotion that nature can impart, More Flora takes an intuitive, mixed media, and multi layered approach to creating imagery that rather alludes to plant and flower motifs.
Starting with group activities, we’ll gradually work towards slower and more self-directed projects that provide plenty of opportunity to develop beyond the classroom.
More Flora is suitable for any level of experience. You do not need to have completed the other two classes beforehand.
Feel free to bring along your own plant and flower specimens if desired, and please check the Materials List for everything you need in advance.
“My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.” Claude Monet
