Details

You are warmly invited to join this Ballroom & Latin Dance 3-week course, whether you are a complete beginner or a "rusty returner". You can join in as a pair, or a single, in which case we aim to get you dancing with a spare partner, tutor or helper.

This short course is led by Tony Cronshaw and James Goddard, experienced workshop leaders from STRICTLY 4U, who offer dance workshops, courses and social events for beginners and improvers in a friendly club-like atmosphere.

Examples of dances introduced in the course include: Social Foxtrot (Ballroom) and Cha Cha Cha (Latin). Follow-on learning opportunities will be signposted.

Your "journey" (often heard on BBC "Strictly"!) truly starts with a single step. Getting past the "two left feet" stage requires a bit of patience, but once you discover you can move easily, the joy of Ballroom & Latin will be yours. Regular dancing (initially gently) will bring a steady improvement in fitness, almost under the radar, and the feel-good factor can be amazing.

These sessions are subsidised and would usually cost £7.50 per person.
The minimum age to attend is 18.

These sessions are brought to you by Cambridge City Council's Active Lifestyles Team in partnership with STRICTLY 4U and funded by Cambridgeshire County Council, through the county-wide Healthy You lifestyle service.

Following the course you can continue dancing with the improvers group which runs afterwards on Tuesday evenings.

Our sessions are in popular demand and we are wanting to ensure that as many people as possible can access them. **Please find full details of our refund and cancellation policy here - https://bookwhen.com/camsport/page/refund_policy

If booking as a block, please note that you will not be eligible to receive a refund of sessions or transfer of tickets if sessions are missed. Refunds or transfers will only be considered in the case of single tickets purchased.

Instructions

Dancers joining the course are recommended to wear clothing that allows free movement. Specialised dance shoes are not required, but soles with a bit of slide/glide would be an advantage.

A water bottle is recommended and can be re-filled at the venue.

Please arrive as promptly as possible. This class takes place in the new Nightingale Pavilion on Nightingale Recreation ground. There is a small car park for the recreation ground, plus free off-street parking.
