Come and join our warm welcoming, nature and forest group that supports parents and their children under 5. We meet each week in the beautiful tranquil Secret Garden, Fishbourne for 1 hour 45 minutes of well-being and outdoor play!
Led by our forest school leaders our sessions provide a supportive environment for young children and parents. Sessions have woodland activities themed around a story, season and nature with lots of opportunities for child-led play. Children may go bug hunting, make a delicious mud pie in the mud kitchen, pond dip in the stream, learn how to safely use simple tools, hang out in the hammock or laugh on the rope swing.
Inspired by and following the ethos of forest school, sessions take place outdoors in wild/wooded areas where we encourage children to follow their own interests and curiosities in nature. This facilitates a deep learning, builds confidence, resilience and self esteem, language skills and social skills. Our group provides a safe space for parents to meet for friendship, support and family play.
As a recognised provider for the Forest School Association our sessions are led by trained Forest School Leaders with two qualified leaders Rachel and Maria leading sessions along with volunteer Jacky. All leaders have enhanced DBS checks. We have a 5 star food hygiene rating.

Please come in old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and dressed for the weather, Long trousers and long sleeves are recommended and enclosed sturdy shoes/boots to protect from prickles.

You can park in the Woolpack Inn pub car park which is a minute's walk from the garden. We will meet you at the car park and walk round.

What can/can't I bring to the event?
It is advisable for children to wear long sleeved tops and trousers with enclosed footwear - wellies are perfect if it is wet. In winter months it is often muddy so puddle suits and wellies are order of the day.
It can be cool so bring an extra layer for yourself and child is advisable. .
The site is accessible by pushchair. If a smaller sibling is coming along too, under 18 months sibilings are free. We often have small siblings from babies upward.
We have a composting toilet and baby change facilities.
No dogs.
