Phonics for Governors

If children cannot read, they cannot access the rest of the curriculum. For this reason, it is vital that all schools place reading at the heart of the curriculum.
The way we do this is through the use of Systematic Synthetic Phonics Programmes. It is important for governors to understand how these are used to teach all children to read, the evidence that underpins them and what Ofsted will look for during an inspection.
