Serger Night Out- Kickoff
Join us from 6pm until you are tired or it’s 11:00 – whichever comes first to the kickoff of Serger Night Out! Serger Night Out is a monthly, “hands-on” class to help you get to know your serger better and get in some quality sewing time. Each month will have a new project as well as time for you to work on your own “UFO”’s (unfinished objects).
The month of June, we will cover the basics of how your serger works and some tips and techniques to help make your serged projects more professional by starting a “Serger Technique Notebook”. We will cover, starting and stopping a seam, inside and outside corners, wrapped seams for sharp corners, serging curves, finding ¼” ½” seam allowances, and the different stitches your serger can make.
We will also create a handy notions caddy for your chair with pockets on one side for all your necessary serger tools and pouches on the other for holding wonder clips or scraps of fabric. This handy caddy will keep all your necessary tools at your fingertips – and out of the way of your fabrics.
All serger brands are welcome, but you if your serger is not a Baby Lock, you must know how to thread it, have it in working order, and bring your instruction manual with you for finding settings for different stitch types.
