Mug Making And Decorating Workshop

Join two ceramic artists who are collaborating on this workshop, to make your own unique mug and coaster.

Lara is a textile designer and teacher at The Clay studio, Kate an ex-student who has since built her own pottery business. They are coming together to hold a guided workshop where you will hand build a mug and coaster set and explore the joys of decorative slip design.

Lara is an expert in print design using carefully considered drawings from both organic and natural forms. Contrasted with strong lines and abstract shapes she creates all-over repeat patterns on her textile and ceramic designs. See @laragorlach

Kate is a multi-disciplined creative, it was her craft as a prop stylist and set designer that drove her desire to take up pottery. Kate now focuses on a collection of plates and homeware with ‘Isolation faces’ and Duci stripes. Quirky designs using slip that aim to make people smile and bring pleasure in the every day moments. @k.s.creative.pottery

This half-day workshop is open to adults (16+) and is for all abilities including beginners. A fun activity to share with friends or as an individual.

Finished pieces will be fired and glazed, ready for pickup in approximately two weeks.

These pottery workshops provide a great opportunity for a “Taster Session” if you are contemplating joining a class. There is nothing like a full hands-on experience, working within a group of like-minded people, and getting a good feel for the facilities, energy and atmosphere of the studio.
