This day is for beginners to have their first taste of both the potter's wheel and hand-building techniques. They provide a wonderful opportunity to come together and have lots of fun, and to enjoy creating and working with clay and colour.
The workshops are limited to 12 people, being split into two groups of 6. One group will experience the potter's wheel in the morning, while the other group will be hand-building. After a lunch break, the groups will swap over.
Items made will be ready to collect, after two firings and glazing, a few weeks later.
These pottery summer workshops provide a great opportunity for a “Taster Session” if you are contemplating joining a class. There is nothing like a full hands-on experience, working within a group of like-minded people, and getting a good feel for the facilities, energy and atmosphere of the studio.
Summer workshops cost £110, which includes teaching, materials, glazing, firing and refreshments. Please bring along your own picnic lunch to eat outside in our beautiful farmyard setting. These workshops are led by Susana Garcia (Throwing) and Helen Ashton (Handbuilding).
