4 Day "Scoill Souree" Manx Summer School for IRISH SPEAKERS

Details

Course Descriptor: This course is designed for those new to Manx or at an early beginner level, who approach learning as Irish-speakers.

At the start of the week, the focus will be mainly on spoken language, highlighting differences in pronunciation and vocabulary between Gaelg and Gaeilge (for example: introducing yourself, talking about where you were born, where you live, what you like to do, and what you have). The spelling system of Manx will also be introduced and explored.

Learners will engage with practical spoken and written examples to see how the language is used in real contexts. The course will progress at a pace suited to the group as they develop over the week.

Each day will include opportunities for conversation, games, and structured role-play activities, allowing participants to practise and apply the Manx they have learned.
