Figuring out what to charge for your services can be tricky business. What is the market rate? How do I charge an appropriate amount? If I charge too much, will I lose business? What if I'm just starting out?
This session will cover how to determine market rates for services in the audio industry, as well how to put that into appropriate context for your business. We will also cover how to bridge the transition when you increase your rates and how to communicate that to existing and future clients.
Most of all - we will PRACTICE THE ASK! The best way to get better at negotiation is to practice it, and there will be at least 2 interactive drills with partners to help you practice and get over your hesitation in negotiations.

Tanya Tarr is founder of Cultivated Insights, a corporate learning and development company. Tanya is also senior contributor to Forbes where she writes about negotiation, leadership and how to squash burnout. Trained as a behavioral scientist, Tanya worked for seventeen years in political and legislative campaigns across the United States. Tanya also spent part of her career working with military families and veterans. Tanya has a Master of Science in performance measurement and management from Carnegie Mellon University. She is a certified master trainer (Union Leadership Institute), coach (State University of New York-Purchase) and DEI practitioner (Cornell University Industrial and Labor Relations School).
