Total Recall Workshop - Wakefield

Detaljer

Does your dog love exploring but "forget" to come back when called? Our Recall Workshop is here to help with fun game based training. In this session we will show you how to:

  • Teach a reliable recall using positive methods
  • Build focus and connection with your dog in a group environment
  • Overcome common distractions like people and new dogs
  • Make coming back the best part of your dogs walk
  • Implement whistle recall

This workshop is suitable for all breeds and all ages. It’s all about teaching you, the handler techniques and exercises to practise with your dog which will help to build a solid foundation for your recall and leads into training for other behaviours.
It's an excellent stand-alone course for dogs and covers how to achieve recall in depth.

Before paying your course fee please do take some time to carefully read our health & safety information and our basic rules for all joining class to ensure you feel it's suited to your dog

Please be aware that we employ positive reinforcement only dog training methods, using food, praise and toys to reward a dog for doing a behaviour we desire.
We do not condone any negative training methods or punishments. If you don’t agree with positive training, then we are afraid this would be the wrong place for you.

Instruktioner

  • Please wear suitable footwear ideally footwear with some grip to be able to move freely around with your dog.
  • Please bring poo bags and ensure you clear up after your dog in the arena and anywhere around the site. Just as if you were out on a walk! We have dog waste bins on site therefore any bagged dog waste can be disposed of responsibly.
  • Please bring with you a whistle
  • Your dog must wear a securely fitted flat collar that cannot slip over their head with lead attached OR a securely fitted harness with lead attached.
  • No choke chains, prong collars, e collars, slip leads or halti head/nose collars are allowed in class.
  • You must use either a training lead or fixed lead. NO FLEXI or EXTENDABLE LEADS or SLIP LEADS are allowed to be used in training.
  • Your dog MUST be kept on lead at all times unless instructed otherwise.
  • We are more than happy for children to attend the course however they must be accompanied by an adult at all times, children can train their dog in class but we suggest that they be of an appropriate age to take direction from the class instructor and that they do not distract the other dogs whilst training.
  • All dogs/puppies need to have had their full up to date vaccinations.
  • If your dog is ill or has an injury, please notify the instructor before going ahead with the class. Dogs that have symptoms such as a cough or sickness or diarrhoea are not able to attend the class.
  • Females in season are not able to attend the class, should you anticipate that the session may coincide with your female’s season then it may be best to wait to for the next months workshop.
  • You are responsible for your dog at all times.

We like to make it clear on booking that progression of the skills taught in class can only be achieved by practising the techniques at home. Simply training in class will achieve limited progress, compared to if you commit to practising in your own time at home and on walks.

If for any reason you need to cancel this session we must be given 48 hours notice to receive a refund, if not we are not able to offer a refund.
