Super Scientist, Becca, joins us for a second time this Easter, for a high-stakes STEM mission. The Easter Bunny needs a little help with future deliveries, so it’s time to get creative!
Using wooden spoons, elastic bands, and forest finds, we will design and build our very own Easter Egg Catapults. We’ll explore the power of levers and tension as we test our trajectories to see who can help the bunny "deliver" the furthest!
As ever lunch is more than just a break—it’s an adventure of its own! Scramble over our two giant fallen trees or play an epic game of hide-and-seek. For those who want to test their balance, the slackline is ready in the woods, or of you prefer a quieter moment – swing in the hammock listening to the birds.
The afternoon sees us moving from engineering to expression as we immerse ourselves in Natural Art - using the forest as our supply cupboard. Get hands-on with mud painting, sculpting clay to create tree-folk faces or bash leaves to create colourful pigments and patterns on cloth – the choice is yours.
We can't wait to welcome you to Base Camp. To keep your child happy and dry in the woods, please send them with the following:
All seasons
Clothing: Long-sleeved tops and full-length trousers are required to protect against nettles, scratches, and ticks - tracksuit bottoms or leggings are perfect.
Think like an onion! Multiple thin layers (thermal, fleece, jacket) are better than one big coat.
Footwear:
Waterproof wellies or sturdy walking boots are essential.
In Their Backpack:
A change of clothes (extra socks are a must!).
Waterproof jacket and trousers (even on dry days!).
A labelled water bottle, sun hat/sunscreen (summer), or warm hat/gloves (winter).
Packed Lunch (we provide drinks and snacks)
Top Tip: We love mud! Please send your child in old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or snagged.
