Joining Myra under the canopy we’ll enjoy a day of creativity and seasonal discovery at Base Camp. This session is all about the joy of making things by hand and sharing food in the heart of the woods…with a few games along the way!
• Woodwork under the canopy: Using traditional tools Myra will guide us to shape and decorate our own wooden animal. It’s a lovely, tactile way to connect with the timber as we’re surrounded by trees and create a keepsake to cherish.
• A Seasonal Feast: We’ll be gathering the scents and flavours of the season, learning how to prepare and use elderflower and nettles, as well as prepare some zesty cakes!
• The Campfire Hearth: We’ll cook our seasonal treats together at the campfire, cooking both on the grill and in the coals.
What to bring info…
We can't wait to welcome you to Base Camp. To keep your child happy and dry in the woods, please send them with the following:
All seasons
Clothing: Long-sleeved tops and full-length trousers are required to protect against nettles, scratches, and ticks - tracksuit bottoms or leggings are perfect.
Think like an onion! Multiple thin layers (thermal, fleece, jacket) are better than one big coat.
Footwear:
Waterproof wellies or sturdy walking boots are essential.
In Their Backpack:
A change of clothes (extra socks are a must!).
Waterproof jacket and trousers (even on dry days!).
A labelled water bottle, sun hat/sunscreen (summer), or warm hat/gloves (winter).
Packed Lunch (we provide drinks and snacks)
Top Tip: We love mud! Please send your child in old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or snagged.
