Tee Shirt Workshop - Ages 17 and up - For Strong Beginners

This tee shirt pattern is a great place to start your journey sewing with knits! Jana will guide you in cutting, sewing, and finishing your very own short or long-sleeved tee shirt in this one day workshop. While it is recommended to use a serger and a sewing machine while working with knits, you can definitely make this shirt using only your sewing machine.
The pattern is a free pdf download that will need to be assembled before class. Or you can trace the printed out pattern at Beehive, Jana has it available in the studio. Supplies:
-Pattern must be dowloaded and assembled before class. Refer above if you need assistance with this step.
-Pre-washed and dried fabric. Fabric yardage is between 3/4yd-1 3/4yds, depending on size. Fabric must be a knit. Knits at Beehive good options, but please reach out at the email above if you have questions.
-Coordinating thread
-Fabric scissors or rotary cutter, mat, and pattern weights
-Removable marking tool
-Small scissors or snips
-Seam ripper
-Pins or clips
-Ballpoint or stretch needle. Size depends on fabric weight. I recommend size 75/11-80/12 for most tee shirt knits.
-Stretch twin needle. Width and size will depend on fabric weight. I recommend a 4mm width and 75/11-80/12 size needle as a great starting point. (You will not need this if you have a Coverstitch Machine)
If not using a Serger:
-Overcast presser foot. Varies by machine, please reach out with machine make and model if you aren’t sure whether you have one.
Optional:
-Serger
-Four cones matching serger thread
-Coverstitch machine
-Three cones matching coverstitch thread
-2yds of 1/2” fusible knit stay tape

CLASS POLICIES
o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 3 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o COVID Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that health conditions would make attending class dangerous for teachers and students. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
