Six week portfolio course

Whether you have something in mind that you're applying for or want to be ahead of the game when you do then this crash course is the ideal choice. You'll leave with the skills to present and turn any project into a portfolio page.

In Week 1 students will create designs on mannequins and then do a still life drawing session. Evidence of drawing from life is a major box ticket for portfolios and the draping will develop designing skills.
In Week 2 we will create artistic fashion illustrations and collage work in reference to the week before. Demonstrating creativity and personal style.
Week 3 will be sampling. Where various relevant sewing techniques will be demonstrated and students then left to create a variety of samples that show a high sewing skill level.
Then in week 4, with the previous week's work scanned in, we will create portfolio pages from this work. Beginning by looking at well presented successful portfolios for inspiration and then deciding what to include and what to cut.
In week 5 students bring in a past art or design project. We will fill in any gaps to the project to be able to present a rounded portfolio page from this project.
Week 6 is creating the previous week's work into a portfolio page and learning the skills to repeat this process.
