These short courses are designed for students interested in learning the fundamentals of photography’s three most infamous genres. You will extend your knowledge of digital photography with the potential to create and resolve a small photographic series. All levels of knowledge and experience are welcome, but students must have access to a digital camera, a computer and preferably a tripod.
Bring camera, tripod, pencil, notebook.... and lunch!

This one day Saturday workshop is an introduction to the genre, craft and art of portrait photography. Essential techniques and the basic use of a digital camera, covering camera functions, lenses, understanding light and composition, as well as the fundamentals of photographing the subject and an insight into the genre of contemporary portraiture will be offered. Creative strategies including directing and posing the subject, colour and emotion and the environmental portraiture on location will be discussed.
