This is a relaxed, hands-on, workshop where you will be guided through the step-by-step process to create your very own silver ring for yourself or as a gift.
No experience is needed as Sheila will guide you through the basics of sawing, filing, annealing, forming, soldering, texturing and polishing. You’ll be shown how to use the jeweller's saw, various hammers, punches, files and pliers safely then use them to make a practise ring in copper then use the same techniques to make your own simple textured silver ring.
You will be supplied with a piece of copper wire for practise and also a piece of " D" shape sterling silver wire and have choice between: wire 3 x 2 mm or 2.3 x 1.5mm.
All tools, materials, equipment and tuition and refreshments are included in the fee.
Children over 12 years must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Murray Street is easily accessible via public transport as it's just a short walk from the High Street, with bus stops and Montrose rail station a short distance away.
Public car parking is currently free in Angus. There is short stay car parking on Murray Street but it's only for 1 hour during the day. The nearest long stay car parking is very near, it's called Murray Lane and is just to the west of Murray Street. Accessed from Strathmore Place a close (lane) leads you directly from the car park onto Murray Street opposite the Clay Half.
Parking at Lowerhall Street is a little further away, near Basin View and Aldi and the train station, but it is long stay and there are electric charge points there.
