We start our journey at Two Tree Island in Essex, a wonderful nature reserve, before paddling towards Southend Pier.
We will have the opportunity to observe some amazing wildlife, including seals, and if we are very lucky we might even spot a crane!, paddling along the tidal estuary we will be stopping for lunch on one of the sandbanks, close to a seal colony (but not to close to disturb them).
We will take sea kayaks for this trip, so please make sure that you are comfortable in these boats before you book!
Participants should be comfortable paddling for an extended time.
You will need to bring lunch and water for the whole day.
Meet at Leaside at 10.00am, for prompt departure at 10.30am. We are dependent on the tide, so we won't be able to wait for late arrivals. We expect to be back at Leaside between 6pm and 7pm.
What to bring:
Food to have on the water, plenty of snacks, something to drink,
sun-hat, sun-tan-lotion.
Change of clothes for afterwards.
Camera or phone in a waterproof bag.
Please check the weather before departure and dress appropriately for the weather.
