Take the bus for a walk; Stokenchurch to Thame (0501)

This is a day long, linear walk of 10.5 miles which will illustrate the great potential The Chiltern Hills have to offer serious walkers or casual ramblers. We start by taking the Red Rose bus from Thame to Stokenchurch to then start the relaxed day's walk back to Thame. Heading west we'll cross the complex valley system once draining the crest of the Chalk escarpment, before turning northwest to descend into the Vale of Aylesbury, with panoramic views before us. Once in the vale its a straight forward walk through country lanes, water meadows and farm tracks until we suddenly emerge in Thame High St, in time for a congratulatory cup of tea (or even a cup of velvety hot chocolate, if you want to pamper yourself).
