When was the last time you felt truly listened to — without anyone saying a word?
Developing skills in ‘listening’ through touch, pressure, weight, and shared movement can be one of the most beautiful ways to connect with others — intelligently, playfully, and all without words.
Join us for our next THE HUMAN PLAYGROUND workshop at Crown Lane Cellar & Long Lane (weather permitting) on 6th July, 18:00–20:00 (with the option to continue beyond).
Step gently out of your comfort zone and expand possibilities through guided play, explore space and movement with others in a fun, welcoming environment, and discover how much you can learn about yourself — and the people around you — through the body.
The session will include a mixture of individual and group exploration, led by Zoë Leigh Gadd, who has 19 years’ experience in leading movement and performance practices.
There’s no judgement, no pressure to “get it right,” and plenty of scope to either observe, gently participate, or actively play.
COST: £10.00
Come as you are. Listen with the body. Move, connect, and play.
No dance experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to connect with other human's in the playground!!

Crown Lane Cellar is a real treasure in Carlisle’s Historic Quarter, and it is also a licensed venue.
As The Human Playground includes guided physical activity, we ask participants to make responsible refreshment choices before and during the session, and to stay hydrated throughout.
There will be an option to stay and socialise further after the activity.
To help keep the space safe and welcoming for everyone, participants are asked to work with care, awareness and respect for others. Anyone unable to work safely within the space may be gently asked to step back from active participation.
